Ingredients you’ll need:
- Golden Oreo cookies: You want to use a plain / vanilla biscuit for this recipe. I opted for golden Oreo’s as they have a delicious sweetness which pairs really well with the sweet white chocolate and creamy cream cheese. Swap them out for a gluten-free biscuit to make this recipe gluten / wheat-free and suitable for Coeliacs.
- Dairy-free cream cheese: Make sure to use a good quality dairy-free cream cheese. My go-to’s are Violife Original Creamy and supermarkets own branded vegan cream cheese. If situated in the US, Mykonos is great!
- Dairy-free white chocolate: Use your favourite vegan friendly white chocolate. I love iChoc Vanilla, Sainsbury’s deliciously Free From White Chocolate and Moo Free White.
- Black and Orange food gel: Use a high pigmented food gel to colour the white chocolate for the snowman nose and eyes / buttons. Use a high pigment food gel and not liquid food colour as this can easily seize your chocolate.
- Sweets / candy: Use vegan friendly rope candy / laces for the snowman scarf. I use fizzy strawberry laces, which I trim to size.

Description
How to make adorable mini no-bake vegan snowman truffles – Oreo truffles with dairy-free white chocolate and a candy scarf. Perfect Holiday treat!
Ingredients
Instructions
- Line a baking tray with greaseproof paper. Set aside.
- Place the cookies in a food processor or blender and whizz up until crumb-like. You could crush them using a rolling pin if you don’t have an electric mixer.
- Pour the cookie crumbs into a large mixing bowl & add in the dairy-free cream cheese. Mix together until fully incorporated. The mixture should be sticky and hold it’s shape when squeezed into balls.
- With clean hands, weigh out 20g of the truffle mixture into a ball, then roll 7g of truffle mixture into a smaller ball. Place the smaller ball on top of the larger ball to form the snowman shape (refer to video for reference). The balls will stick together when chilled. Place on a tray. Repeat for the truffle mixture.
- Pop the tray into the freezer and allow to set for around 20 minutes, or until firm to the touch.
- About 5 minutes before the snowman truffles are ready to come out of the freezer, pop the white chocolate into a bowl on top of a saucepan with boiling water, creating a bain-marie and allow the chocolate to fully melt. You can also melt the white chocolate in the microwave.
- Remove the snowmen truffle balls out of the freezer & dunk them in the white chocolate! You can either insert a tooth pick to the bottom of the truffle and dunk in the chocolate, allowing excess to drip off or balance the truffle on a fork, using a spoon to drizzle over the melted chocolate to coat. Allow any excess chocolate to drip back into the bowl. You may wish to repeat this step a few times to get a thick coating of white chocolate. As we used a light coloured cookie, one coat should be perfect.
- Place the truffles back onto the lined tray and place them into the freezer to set. As the truffles are very cold, the chocolate will set almost immediately so they’ll only need to be in the freezer for around 5-10 minutes.
- When the truffles have set, prepare the decorations.
- Colour some left over white chocolate black, transfer into a piping bag and snip off the tip. Repeat for the orange chocolate.
- Pipe a orange ‘carrot nose’ to the snowman, followed by black eyes, mouth and buttons.
- Cut a strawberry lace sweet to length and width, wrap around the snowmen’s head. Optional: Use some melted white chocolate to help stick the scarf in place.
- Place back into the freezer for 5 minutes to set the decorations, then serve.
- Tuck in and enjoy!
Notes
To store: Store the truffles in an airtight / sealed container in the fridge, and allow to come to room temperature before enjoying.
As they contain cream cheese, make sure they are kept chilled.
Best eaten within 4 days of making.

Can these be made non-vegan too?
Author
Hello, As i only bake and recipe test using vegan ingredients, i wouldn’t be able to say if it would work or not, nor would i want to promote the use of non-vegan ingredients 🙂 x
