Pancake day is tomorrow (Shrove Tuesday) so I wanted to share my recipe for The BEST Vegan Chocolate Chip Pancakes. They’re flipping delicious (pun intended). They are great fun to make with family and kids!
WHO LOVES PANCAKES?
I made pancakes at least once a week for breakfast and these vegan chocolate chip pancakes have fast become a favourite of mine, as they’re just so tasty!
Quick and easy pancakes which are fluffy and light, filled with tasty chocolate chips, topped with a swirl of dairy-free cream and a drizzle of maple syrup. It’s not pancake day without pouring over the maple syrup – haha!

The Best Vegan Chocolate Chip Pancakes

Description
Learn how to make the best, light and fluffy Vegan Chocolate Chip Pancakes!
Ingredients
- 250g of plain flour (you can use gluten-free)
- 1 & 1/2 tablespoons of baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon of salt
- 3 tablespoons of caster sugar
- 3 tablepsoons of sunflower oil
- 300ml dairy-free milk
- 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract (you can use orange for chocolate orange pancakes)
- 30g of dairy-free chocolate chips

Toppings
- Drizzle of maple syrup
- Dairy-free ice-cream
- Dairy-free chocolate chips
Instructions
Method (pancakes)
- Add the flour, baking powder, salt and sugar into a medium sized mixing bowl and mix to combine.
- Pour in the oil, dairy-free milk and vanilla / orange extract. Mix and combine until smooth.
- Fold in the chocolate chips. Set the batter aside for 5 minutes.
- Heat a tablespoon of sunflower oil in a frying pan.
- Spoon the batter into the pan, about 2 tablespoons at a time. Allow the edges of the pancake to turn golden then flip. Watch me make these pancakes here.
- Once both sides of the pancake are golden in colour, remove from the pan and plate up!
- I served my pancakes with a square of dairy-free block butter ( I use Naturli), a drizzle of maple syrup and sprinkled over more chocolate chips. Oh, and can’t forget the swirl of dairy-free cream on the side- yum!
Notes
Store: These pancakes are best enjoyed day of making. If you leave them out, they will turn soft, so they’re best enjoyed within an hour of making them.
